Welcome to MCB 102 One Class.

MCB 102, Introductory microbiology is a foundation course for undergraduate students of microbiology. It is designed to expose students to the basic knowledge that will help them understand both the basic and applied aspects of microbiology. The theory part of the course will be taught in class lectures. Practicals will also be conducted to complement the theory and equip the students with the skills of handling basic apparatus and methods used to study microbes. Assessment will be based on C.A (written test/quizzes, lecture attendance, practical reports) and the semester examination. The C.A will constitute 40% while the exams will constitute the remaining 60%.

MCB 406 - Environmental Microbiology is a course designed to exposed students to aspects of microorganisms in relation to the environment. it focuses on the understanding the ways and manner in which microbes affect the environment, how the various biotic and abiotic factors of the environment affect them as well as the exploitation of those microbes to better human wellbeing

This course is named Instructional Technology and the code is EDUC 208

This course teaches digital competency. It is designed to give students not only basic computer literacy, but also make them competent and confident users of digital technologies. It is practical oriented such that they will learn how to search and also create and publish open educational resources and also use digital tools such as video conferencing tools and virtual learning environments with fluency.

This course is termed Innovative Method of Instruction. It deals with teaching innovation strategies and exposing students to new teaching methods and techniques which are based on learner-centered approaches. Learning Facilitation issues were discussed: Approaches to Learning such as Individual Differences, motivation of students, use of Instructional Materials, Time Management, Special teaching methods: Teacher-centred and Learner Centred methods, Planning for teaching (Syllabi, Scheme of work and Lesson planning) and micro-teaching are all inclusive in this course.
